Fyolice of the West 125th Street Station are reticent about an auto- t(mobile hold-up that took place at 1Mth Btreet and St. Nicholas Park at 8 o'clock this morning. Despite their endeavors to suppress all in- formation, it was learned that Leon Levy, twenty-seven, a hat check at- tendant in a restaurant at 145th Street and Broadway, was struck on the head with a revolver by a ban- @it-ané then burned by the flash of the weapon which was fired at him. He and two other men in the car ‘were robbed. Levy, whose home is at No. 245 ‘West 16th Street, was picked up at the restaurant by the two men | whose names the police, refuse to| @ive. They offered to take him home, bet before going there decided to take a ride. At 134th Street two men darted from behind a clump of bushes in the park and jeaped on the Yrunning board of the automobile. Bach pointed a revolver at the oc- eupants and rifled the clothes of the three, Levy put up a fight. The noiso nttracted patrolmen of the 125th suert Station who came rumning to the scene only to find the two bandits had fled. One patrolman @rove to the Knickerbocker Hospital where Dr. Corcoran treated Levy. Newspaper mon questioned the desk sergeant at the police station, the dia- logue running thus: Reporters—Was there any disturb- ances in this precinct early this morn- ing, Sergeant?
