Se DONT ET A A LTT LT TTT To all taxpayers and trustees _ TAXPAYERS Liberty Loan 34s, being exempt from all income and excess profits taxes, are considered the premier investment for people of large income. BUT if your taxable income is, say, $50,000, the purchase of any amount up to about $250,000 of the Fourth Liberty Loan will return you a net income, after taxes—for the period of the war and for two years thereafter—greater than you would receive from the same amount in- vested in 3'4s. If you own 4% or 4'4% Liberty Bonds of the old issues, you can enjoycertainvery considerable advantages in tax exemption with respect thereto, covered by recent legislation, not obtainable unless you sub- scribe to and retain a proper proportion of bonds of the Fourth Loan. These are only two of many advan- tages enjoyed by subscribers to the Fourth Liberty Loan. TRUSTEES If you, as trustee, hold securities, the income from which is paid regularly to a beneficiary, the Fourth Liberty Bonds held forthebeneficiaryare regarded for income tax purposes as belonging to him, and the income therefrom, up to a holding of $30,000 directly owned or held in trust for each beneficiary will be free from income, excess profits, and war profits taxes for the period of the war and for two years thereafter. By subscribing to and retain- ing bonds of the Fourth Loan you may also obtain for your trust estates very consider- able advantages in tax exemption with respect to such 4% and 414% bonds of the old issues as you may hold in trust. The Liberty Loan Committee has established a bureau of tax experts at its office, Room 2548, 120 Broadway, and at 509 Fifth Avenue, who will be glad to discuss the above and other features of the law with you if requested.
