F offices of Selwyn & Co. comes the announcement that work on the two playhouses in West 424 Street, between Seventh and Highth Avenues, which have been d a } merely holes in the ground for some a f / peat time, is to be resumed at once and that one will be called the Times Square. No name, says the announcement, has heen selected for the other. A few months ago, if memory serves us! ff aright, Selwyn & Co. let tt be known | these houses would be called the Mar-| [ garet Mayo and the Margaret Illing ton. ‘The theatres will be ready by Christmas, and then the New York) theatregoing public will have some- where to go nights. | BY WAY OF DIVERSION. He'd brush off the stuff, and the next thing he knew she'd play the piano and sing “I'll Be | True.” He'd stay for a while, then he'd tell her goodby, and, once the he was‘ off on the fy. r saloon was the first place | , and soon he'd be blowing foam over the top. This maid was, indeed, a poor, misguided child. To say she was foolish is putting it mild. A man likes to talk of himself—let him rave and, girls, you can make his affections behave.
