The occasion was a com- bined motion picture exhibition and concert for the benefit of the Asso- ciation des Anciens Eleves du Con- servatoire National de* Paris and American War Relief. After M. Muratore had sung “The Marseillaise” with electrifying effect upon the audience, he bravely tackled the American National Anthem. His accents and his pronunciation of the English words were unique. Never- theless, nobody cowd fail to under- stand them. Again the audience was stirred deeply. To cap the climax, M. Muratore carried to the centre of the stage a large Italian flag, which he waved vigorously, while the band | played the Italian Natidnal Hymn. | At the close he gave one great shout of “Vive LiItalie!” ‘Then there was, | bediam, - | Capt.
