MOVIE INDUSTRY BERIND FIGHT ON SUNDAY CLOSING 000 Investment to Take Case to Court of Appeals. ‘The entire moving picture industry | of the country, representing a finan- cial backing of over $500,000,000, ac- cording to the movie men, has now g@ot behind the fight to prevent the Sunday closing of picture theatres in New York City and other parts of the State where they have been al- lowed to open in the past. Motion picture men from all over the country will come here Thanks- giving Day to attend two meotings, at which the Sunday movie question will be the principal topic. Owners of theatres being most cerned, there will be a special meet- ing of the Executive Board of the Ex- + hibitors’ League of America, presided over by the National President, Lee A. Ochs. Then tho exhibitors will go to the meeting of the Executive Board of the National Association of the Mo- tion Picture Industry, where final de- clsion will be reached on ways and means for the fight. William A. Brady fe President of this organization, which takes in all the departinents of the movie business and is a powerful factor. The probable action of the two. meetings was outlined for The World Jast pight by Thuinas Howard, Stute Secretary of the Exhivitors’ League “We have thirty days to appeal to the Court of Appeals from the ruling of the Appeliate Division, Third De- partment,” said Mr. Howard, “Wiil- jam M.
