Affording a briltant night spectacle from Coney Island and brilliantly iNumfnating Jamaica Bay, nine build- ings on Barren Island, comprising the fertilizer plant of the T. F. White Manufacturing Company, were de- stroyed by fire early to-day at an estimated loss of $300,000. Eight hundred people live on Bar- ren Island, but there is no fire de- partment.
