The namo of Frank Lyon Poll, Corporation Counsel, Is being men- tloned in connection with tho Demo- cratic nomination for District Attor- hey in tho next fall campaign. ‘The suggestion has come from Washing-| ton and Tammany leaders, it 1s kifown, have been sounded on their attitude toward the Corporation Coun- a Mr. Polk is a Democrat, but not a Tammany man. He was one of May- or McClellan's chief advisers when ho | was fighting Murphy. However, it is thought that he might be acceptable to Tammany and bis name has been sug- gested by men close to the Adminis- tration, who hope to beal any feeling in the party here, so Democracy in | New York will be united in 1916, It 1s reported in both Republican and Democratic circles that there is opposition to the nomination of Dis- trict Attorney Perkins on the Repub- lean ticket to suceed himself. This is not from objection to him person- aly, it is said, but because Gov, Whit- man appointed him without consult- ing party leaders. The opposition to Mr. Perkins, it is 90M, may result in a demand for a Fusion ticket. Frank Moss, who was Aasistant District Atrorney in the Whitman regime, and who aided mate- rially in the conviction of Becker, and Magistrate Joseph 1.
