Parrott, an ex-cdnvict and disbarred lawyer, was arraigned in Yhe West Side Police Court to-day under the name of John L. Johnson and held in $2,500 ball on the charge of stealing $75 from Charles Wotteran of No. 5 West One Hundred and Sec- ond Street. Assistant District Attor- ney Coleman asked that the bail be made heavy, as there are eight other complaints against Johnson. In April, 1914, Johnson inserted in The World an advertisement calling for collectors. Wetteran, among others, answered the advertisement. Johnson asked for $75 in cash as se- curity that Wetteran would turn in |all his collections. Wetteran produced the money and Johnson disappeared. Weteran notified The World and this newspaper started after Johnson, His real identity and history were established, but he kept under cover juntil yesterday, when ho was sen in |the restaurant of the Hotel Apthorp at Ninety-fourth Street and Broad- way.
