Mr. Goelet said that he had con- sulted the police rewarding a number of thefts from the house through the latter part of November. Small arti- cles of jewelry which lay about in sight had been taken, With Detective Fraizer, Mr. Goelet sald he agreed that suspicion must rest on Moore or another, whom he did not name. They marked eleven bills, amounting to $350, and laid the lot on a table in his dressing room when he went to bed. “In the morning,” Mr. Goelet con- tinued, “I counted the bills over and none were missing. Moore came and ve me a treatment at his usual jour. No one else had been in the room after I counted the bills. As soon as he left I ran them over and found only $200. “Detective Frazier was waiting out on the street. I lowered the window ehade twice as a signal afd then pointed down to the front door. He arrested Moore going out and brought him upstairs. He denied that he had any property belonging to me, but when the detective moved to seargh him he drew out the marked $90 and handed it to me.” From the questions of W. M. K.
