STE ed tak at AGREE * FROM A BLAZING BD INBASEMENT ROOM Geido Denies Having Trouble With Any One, but In- cendiary Is Suspected. A man on a blazing bed, his cloth- | tag in flames, was found by Police- men Garvey and Barry when they burst into the basement of No. 29¢ ‘West One Hundred and Forty-second | street, where they discovered a fire early to-day. The policemen beg out the flames in the man's clothing and carried him to the street. Fhere it was learned he was Tony Geldo, employed by Giuseppe Devito, who has a fruit shop in the same bullding. Devito lives with his wife an five children on a floor above, and two other employeee—Alphonse Apinelli and Eugeno Spaguolo—were asleep in the basement, but not in the same room as Geido, All but Geido got out safely. Dr. Rafsky took Geldo to Harlem Hospital, suffering from burns on the | head, arms and body. He will re cover. The fire was put out quickly im by the firemes, and detectives mak- | | ing an investigation found a loaded | revolver among Geldo's effects, } \‘The injured man denied he had ie, @uy trouble* with any one, but was then placed. under arrest in the hos- pital, charged with violating the Sul- Nvan law.
