Dr. George W, Hosmer of the edi- toriat staf of The World died inst night at the age of eighty-four years at bis home, No. 69 Hobart street, Summit, N. J. It came of a nature » to which friends turned naturally for counsel and comfort in time of trouble and which never failed them. Dr. Hosmer was a veteran of the civil war. He wrote articles and books on the battles through which he fought which are authorities respected by historians. His book “Politics and People” was translated into sevei languages.
