This has brought aseur- ences of support from some ten thou- gan voters in the district. Jolliffe, chairman of the Yorkville District Committes of the Charities Organization, the first speaker, urge the need of the park for the safety and health of the ahil- @ren. Alexander H. Sponcer, who 1s ehairman of Mayor Gaynors Park Ad- visory Committee and also a member ot the Park and Playground Commis- gion, and Commissioner Stover followed. The Commissioner estimated the cost of the park to the city at $1,000,000, As the present administration had not expended a dollar for new parks or Feereation centres, ha, felt thet this sum would be forthcoming.
