Wolgast’s next important fight wae with Jack Redmond at Milwaukee on June 10, 1910. It was a ten-round no-dectsion contest, and Wolgast broke his arm by hitting Redmond on the head. After engaging in a six-round no-decision bout with Freddie Cole at Muncie, Ind., on Aug. 9, Wolgaet took on Tommy McFarland in another no-decision bout at Fond du Lac, Wis., Sept, 29, 1910, und re-broke his arm. He didn’t fight again until Feb. 8, 1911, when he went against Knockout Brown in @ aix-round bout im Phila- @elphia. Although no decision was given, the newspapers announced that Brown had bested him. Wolgast met Brown for the second timain @ ten-round bout in this city on March 3, 1911, This was also @ no-decision contest. Again the newspapers claimed Brown outpointed the little champion. Wolgast then went to California, where he knocked out Georgé Memsic at Los Angeles in nine rounds on March 17, 1911, and stopped Antonio LaGrave in five rounds at San Francisco on March 81. Wolgast then came back to thia.ctty and on April 26 knocked out “One-Round” Hogan in two rounds at the Madison A.C, Wolgast hiked back to California, where he put Frankie Burns, the Frieco fighter, away in sixteen rounds at San Francisco on May 27, 1911, and scored @ knockout over Owen Moran in thirteen rounds in the same city on July 4, 1911, Wolgast was then matched to fight Freddie Welsh at Vernon, Cal., on Thanksgiving Day of last year, but two dye before the fight he was stricken with appondicitis, The operation kept him out of the ring until he met Willie Ritchie in a four-round no-decision bout in San “ Francisco on May 9.
