FACTORY BOYS FROM MACHINERY PRLS Miss Keyser Appears Before Commission to Urge New Safety Saw. Miss Harriette A. Keyser, Second ‘Vice-President of the Church Assocta- tion for the Advancement of the Ia- terests of Labor, appearing this morn- img before the State Factory Investi- gating Commission in the County Court House Building, aroused the in- terest of Senator Robert F. Wagner, Assemblyman Alfred BE. Smith and, Miss Mary E. Dreier, members of the commission, by making a plea for the | boy workers In factories. The commission is collecting data for bills amending the State Labor law, and Miss Keyser urged that boys under sixteen years be prohibited by law from running machinery, She also pointed out the necessity for a signal device that will give warning when an operator ts being drawn into & Machine. She cited instances in which workers are dragged into ma- chinery and maimed for want of such & device. Miss Keyser objected to the com-| mission taking up the question of safeguarding the morals of working girls and women.
