WIDOW AUSE INSURANCE MANF STEALING $200 Has Former Connecticut Of- ficial Arrested for Bogus Real Estate Deal. ‘Mrs. Mary H. Drake, widow of @ former Government employee in Wash- her father, ex-Judge , of the Department of Justice, are in this city prepared to Prosecute Frederick A. Betts of No. 115 Broadway, formerly Insurance Commis- loner of Connecticut, on a charge of rand larceny. Betts, who lives at the Hotel Har- Grave, No. 112 West Seventy-second Street, was indicted by the Grand Jury yesterday on Mrs. Drake's complaint and arrested by Detective Thomas of the District-Attorney’s oMce. Judge Rosalsky, before whom Betts was ar- raigned, released him in %,000 ball pend- ing his appearance before Judge Crain in Part 1. of General Sessions to-mor- row for pleading. For years Betts has been prominent fn the insurance world.
