(COURT BECOMES FAN.| Read Up and Can Under- stand “White Sox.” The weal crowd of fans, and a tow More, gathered to-day at the trial of the slander and Jibel suit for $50,000 wrought by John M. Ward, former captain of the Giants, against Ban Johnson, President of the American League, before Judge Hand and a jury in the United States Court. Among the women who have attended every session of the trial is Mrs. John M. Ward, wife of the plaintiff. She & handsome, smartly gowned young ‘woman, and she follows every detail of the testimony. Stephen Baldwin, counsel for Ward, said that $500 of the $700 mentioned in the receipt was for services not connected with the Davis case.
