It established headquarters at No. 207 Union avenue and promulgated as its slogan, “Good Good Men and Good Govern- ment.” What became of that organization ts not recorded, but a year later Robin turns up again as campaign manager for Gen. James KR. O'Belrne in his fight againet Perry Belmont for the Congres- from the First District of In the Thirteen Club. @ The association of Robin and Gen, O' Beirne in that period was rather close. Three years tater, both Robin and O'Beirne are mentioned as members of the Thirteen Club, Robin was “recely- er” or treasurer of this anti-superatition organization in 1899, and Gen. Opeiine Supreme rt in Brooklyn to-day, was prominent in its councils. A Foreman ef Ferguson, a real estate later, when Gen. Robin's novel wan entitled “The Fight of Icarus, an Idy! of Printing House Square.” He completed it in 1897 and of- fered the manuscript to a number of the leading publishers, but tt was turned down by one after another. Robin's faith im his masterpiece was not dimin- ished and in 188 he had it brought out by F. Tennyson Neely and paid $200 for printing tho first thousand copies. Striking Chapter In His Cook. ‘The novel deals with n newspaper re- porter who, among other vicissitudes to his craft, fails in love with a woman, belleving her to be pure. Robin was a reporter early in his career, One incident narrated in the story reveals the singular fact that In attempting to kill himself when he was brought to the Criminal Courts Bullding a week ago to answer to the Indictments found against him he was enacting a scene high his fertile imagination had woven into “The Fight of Icarus.” ‘The reporter was in a police court one day when’ the woman he loved was brought in after @ raid on a disorderly house.
