If the fire has been too brisk, more liquid can be added at the last. How- ever, to be perfect, the pudding needs to be baked in slow oven, Get Van wen Camp’s, at all ‘This Is the Exact Size of the Ten-Cent Can Grocers everywhere, but Camp’s Evaporated Milk is not “Condensed Try This Recipe For Oyster Stew Take one quart of oysters; examine them one by one, to remove any bits of shell adhering to them, Heat the oyster liquor to the boiling point, skim carefully and add to it the oysters; let heat quickly, shaking the pan occasionally, In the meantime dilute one can of Van Camp's Evapo- rated Milk with one pint of boiling water and let stand over hot water to become very hot. When the oysters boil, add one-fourth of a cup of butter, three-fourths of a teaspoonful of salt, a dash of pepper, if desirable, and half a cup of fine cracker crumbs, and pour into the soup tureen, add the evaporated milk and serve at once with oyster crackers, Creamed Chipped Beef Remove the coarse threads from the edges of a cup and a half of chipped beef; cover the beef with boiling water and let stand on the back of the stove, where it will keep hot while the sauce is being made; drain the beef and stir it into the sauce. A beaten egg may be added with the beef. Serve at once with baked potatoes. For the cream sauce, melt three level tablespodhfulsof but- ter, cook three level tablespoonfuls of flour in the melted butter until the mixture is frothy, then gradually stir in one-half cup of Van Camp’s Evaporated Milk, diluted with a cup of water. Stir and cook until the sauce boils. This sauce is also particularly good for bits of cooked chicken, fe veal or lamb, for hard-cooked eggs cut in quarters and for cooked onions, cauliflower, Carrots, peas or asparagus. careful: Milk” be ‘Condensed milk” is half sugar. You can’t use it for cooking. Please don’t think that Van Camp’s is like that. And don’t think that all ‘evaporated” milks are alike, For milk less rich, with more water left in, may still be called ‘«evaporated.” If you'll compare Van Camp's with other brands, you will see what a difference there is.
