An attempt to hold a young girl as a pawn for a board bill may be frus- trated when thirteen-year-old Estella Male, of 141 Waslington avenue, New York City, appears before Pollve Magistrate Higgins, in Jersey City to- morrow. The case came up In court to-day when Joseph Male, fathcr of the child, appeared ag 4 complainant against Mrs, Thomas Taylor, of No, 608 Grove street, Jersey City, whom he charged with the abduction of his child. The girl was not in court. Mrs, Taylor admitted that she had possession of the child and said that she intended to keep pos- session of her until she received $12, the amount she claimed was due for the child's board. Mrs. Taylor said that a month ago Mrs. Male took the child to her and told her to keep her. Mra. Male then went to the St Joseph's Hospital, in the Bronx, where she has been ever aince. Two weeks ago, Male ulleges, he went to Mrs. Taylor and demanded dis child.
