All Agree There Should Be No Delay Over The Evening World’s Ordinance for Pro- tection of Passengers. Alderman Fred Richter ts determined that the ordinance he presented at the meeting of the Board of Aldermen at the suggestion of The Evening World, requiring the street-car companies to clear away the snow from street inter- aections for the space of a car's length, shall be reported hy the committee without unnecessary delay. é When the proposed ordinance was re- ferred to the Railroads Committee Al- erman Richter called a meeting of up- ward of thirty monbers of the board in the ante-room of the chamber, at which resolutions were adopted declar- ing it imperative that the ordinance proposed by him be at once enacted. It was the unanimous opinion of the members gathered that no delay should be had In the enactment of the proposed ordinance, and that every effort should be made to make the new ordinance ef- fective before the close of the winter months. | Alderman Kenney. of Brooklyn, who has fearlessly fought for the rights of his constituents as against the Brook- lyn Ralflroad monopoly, declared that he was prepared to ald his colleague, Alderman Richter, to the last in com- pelling the railroad companies to clear away the snow for one car's length from street crossings.
