There were twelve famlies in the bullding and all turned out at the alarm. The fire was caused by a defectve flue, The damage amounted to $500. At 1 o'clock fire was dscovered on the roof of No, 194 Third avenue. It is a four-story building and the blaze was caused by an attempt to thaw out the water pipes. The roof and top floor ‘were demolished, Damage, $800. ‘The next call came at 1.15 from No. %& Peck wtp. It started in the apart! mont of Mrs, Limeox and was caused by thawing out tne water pipes.
