+ ‘The Organization of Every Branch Obtaining Pledges to the Fund Well Under Way. Go to Washington and Aid the Presen- tation of New York’s Claims Before the Democratic National Committee. New York has only six more days to work for the National Dem- “peratic Convention, but the outlook is most encouraging. John D, Crim- ‘mins believes that the bid New York will make to the National Commit- Yee on Jan. 12 will be in perfect shape when the large committee of citi- pens starts for Washington to present New York’s claims. Mr, Crimmins expects to-day to have fully organized every working Branch of the committees and to have got well on his way toward col- flecting the pledges for the fund which will be necessary to bring the con- wWention to New York. : “4 continue to report progress,” Mr, Crimmins said to-day, FAMOUS MEN ON THE COMMITTEE. ‘The committee that will go to Washington will leave New York on fhe morning of Jan. 12, This committee will be composed of one hun- fired or more of the most prominent men in New York. Besides Mr. ‘Cximmins, J. Edward Simmons, Perry Belmont and other men of na- tional fame in politics and finance, there will be on the committee such men as Henry Siegel, Jules S. Ehrich, B. J. Greenhut and I, Saks, me chant princes; W. L. Jaques and a dozen other New York hotel men, Sam Shubert and Oscar Hammerstein for the theatrical men, representa *_ tives ftom the wholesale and retail liquor dealers, Congressmen and State Senators, politicians, both Republican and Democratic; Judges and law- yers. It will indeed be a representative body of New York business and professional men. " rats This weck must be devoted to collecting the funds or pledges to the fund. When Mr. Crimmins makes his bid for New York he wants the “{iynd or pledges for the fund in hand. ; MORE MEN ON THE COMMITTER. , Every mail brings in new names of men who are anxious to act on the committee that will go to Washington. These are a few of the men who thave joined the committee to-day: T am heartily in sympathy with this movement, and I will be glad to be a representative of a committee to the National Demo- cratic Convention.
