is Ne ENG AR Soe BES “JAIL-BREAKER” IS AGAIN. A CAPTIVE James Colgan; ia thes’ “Troy,” Is ly: Thirtk Years Old, but ee Spent Most of His Life in Prison. Janes Colgan, alias “Troy,” a wells known crook, who on July 19 last es- caped from the Hastern State Reform- ee Matanoch-on-the-Hudson, in @ jonal manner, was captured by the police early to-day and later ar- raigned in the Centre Street Court. Colgan, though but thirty years old, has won the title among professional cracks of “The Jail Breaker" by mak- ing three almost miraculous escapes from. different prisons in the State. When a mere boy he escaped from El- mira, Reformatory by sliding forty feet down a drain pipe. 1p -1900 ‘he escaped from the Albany Reformatory by saw- ing off the bars in his cell window and rapping thirty feet to the ground. Since he was firteen years old Colgan bas spent most of his fife in prison, and two years'ago he was sent to the East- ecn State Reformatory for an inde- terminate sentence of not more than five years on a charge of burglary. His record of escames from prison was well known to, the reformatory officials, and he was locked in a cell eighty feet from the ground. There was but one narrow window to his cell. in which three heavy fron bars were fastened. Though. he was thoroughly searched qhen placed in a cell and not allowed to lave anything that had not been carefully inspected, he somehow secured Possession of a tiny file. With this he slowly filed away two of the bars to his cell, When he had loosened thom he made a rope sixty feet long of his bed clothing and prison sult. He made tiris rope in the sixty min- utes lapse of time between the visits of the guard. Fastening the rope he slid down and dropped to the ground, Though clad only In bis underctothes the made his escape across country to @ hobo camp, where ‘he was supplied mith dtothes and securely hidden from the searohing authorities. He will now be sent back to prison and compelled ‘gerve out double hia term. “Morning Hours— Golden ‘Hours.’’ Saturday Worning Limited! sesersey ts eer the ‘Natural met Tenportant me Teatiers sd to the vary, last a: ‘@ short day to many wor! nd a hol day for the children. uses SAN these ous crowds of ahon- tore” on Saturday: Aftieute to. do turday, after enoi tothe Bis me insta: tice to our nati Bien Mand ‘Boys’ Stores emphasized a Reward for Carly Risers. ‘We are, of course, only too anxious to }o matter at what vor us with their Ire to make it from. mn jes rofitable rt or imited" quantiti ae prices as 00 induce at. purchasers to come in We state the quantity: We ‘The store opems ot Wen's sree Zo-Morrow Morning. DRUGGISTS REPORT An Unprecedented Demand for the New Remedy. Professor Munyon's claim that he had found a remedy that would posi- tively cure dyepepsia and all stomach and nerve troubles, and that he want- ed everybody to call at the offices of the New York American and Journal and get a free sample bottle, had the desired effect of bringing out thou- sands of ‘people from all parts of the city and adjoining towns. Among the throng have been preachers, lawyers, merchants, millionaires and me- chanics, one as anxious as the other to test this new remedy. The 20,000 bottles sent the American and Jour- nal were exhausted before Thursday noon, Alread y fy number have been in to tell that they have x received great benefit” from the samples and have pro- cured large size hottles of the ruggist, and have the strongest hopes of : being restored to health. One gentle- man sald: ‘T had the best rest last might Y had in ten years.” Another gentleman said: “T want to tell you that for the first time in many years I have béen able to eat a hearty meal @ithout any pain or in- convenience.” * We are now look{fg for the people who secured a trial vial to send in their testimony. Professor Munyon says he wants the facts, He has claimed that this remedy will Cure all stomach ailments —that it will enrich the blood—that it will positively cure catarrh and that it will feed and strengthen the nerves, “I believe,” says Professor Munyon, “that my Paw Paw Remedy will not only cure dyspepsia and all nervous ailments, but it will add many years to the average life.” Paw Paw soothes, heals and invig- oratgs stomachs that have been weak- ened by over-eating or where the lin- ing of the stomach has been pappired by physic and Injurtous medicines ‘cures all forms of dyspepsia and tndls gestion such as rising of food, dis- tress’ after eating, bloating of the stomach, palpitation of the - heart, shortness of breath and.all affections of the heart caused by indigestion. wind on the stomach, belching wind or sour food, ‘bad, taste, offensive breath, loss of appetite, faintness or weakness of the stomach, improper circulation, coated tongue, heartburn or waterbrash, inflamed or ulcerated stomachs, shooting pains of the stom- ack, constipation and costive bowels, dizziness, faintness and lack of en- ergy.
