On the burglary charge he was placed under 51,500 bonds and on the arson charge ‘under $2,000, His mother and. other relatives furnished bail and he was re- leased. His examination was set for Nov. 18, Duncan slept last night in the jail at Wlushing. At breakfast time this morn- tng he declined the prison fare. When Mr, Parsons opened bts o} yesterday morning he found ‘that the safe had been forced open and that @ sum of money was missing. The Sooks and papers of the firm were in a beap on ghe floor. "The police’ were called in, and it fell to Duncan to show the two detectives ‘who mado the Investigation about the office. ‘The detectives say that he sug- ested where the tools used in opening he safa might possibly be found, and ‘they weer found in the place indicated.
