He was in for a fine Mne of trouble, As frequently happens, there were aboard this noble ship—we will call her the Tropic Bird—a bunch of nolsy youths with dinky caps upon their dizzy heads. They were of the genus known as the college cub. To show they were getting fine educations somewhere they sang gongs so rollicking that the boat rocked to their rocky songs, Presently, when the vealy tenor struck @ note that wasn't written in the plece, @ heart-sick sailor gave a hitch to his trousers and, rolling over to the mis- guided vocalist, warned him that unless he stopped there would be mutiny among the crew, with possibly a Ittle help from some of the patient passengers. "Since I First Met You" froze upon the lips of the serenaders. They gasped and gazed about them for help. Qfooers, a millionaire mine owner who fs looked up in Ludlow Street Jail in default of $25,000 ball in an action against him for an absodute dtvorce, was resumed to-day before Judge Ben- nett in the Court of Special Sessions. In the warrant upon which Mrs. ‘Mooers was arrested by Detective Lynch @ week ago at her suit of rooms at the Hotel Navarre, New York, it was charged thet whe caused to have carried away a steamer trunk, golf set, &c., which were being held by Mrs. Lessie Kirkland, of Del avenue, Chester Hill, for a boam bill. Mrs. Mooers boarded ‘with Mrs. Kirkland for two weeks. She paid $10 for the first week's board, and when the time for the second week's Payment came around it is said she was without funds and left the place. Mrs. Mooers On the Stand. Maurice Goodman, of New York, ap- peared for Mrs. Mfooers, who took the stand in her own fbehaif. Mrs. Mooers testified that she is only East on a stay until her domestic troubles are settled. It came out that her husband will in- herit $6,900,000 soon.
