TAY TEACHER OF ~ JOYEAR SERIE Miss Agnes Rinn Must Answer | To-Day to Charges of Insub- ordination, Inefficiency and { Neglect of Duty. — ~~ Charged with insubordination, Ineffi- clency and neglect of duty Miss Agnes inn, a suspended teacher in Public Behool No. 72, was placed on trial to- day at the School Board's offices before the Committee on Elementary Schools, of which Jacob W. Mack is chairman. ‘The charges were made by Supt. Ed- ward ©, Farrell and Miss Helen M. Vanning, principal of the school, and Miss Rinn, after a service of nineteen { years, was suspended on May 28. Attention was attracted to Miss Rinn's | methods by the fact that only six of her class of forty winter pupils passed @n examdnation, while the summer be- fore only ten of her class passed, while it fs usual for more than three-quarters ) to pass. One of the witnesses will be a girl pupil who says she frequently kept the Toll of attendance for Miss Rinn, Other pupils say thev have been sent on er- rands and thai frequently class recita- tlons were passed over. Miss Fanning bases her charge of insubordination on Miss Rinn's refusal to make proper ‘weekly reports in the “progress” book. HENRY M. FLAGLER ILL AT COUNTRY HOME OVER ASSAULT No Attempt Yet in Wilmington to Have Helen Bishop Identify Her Suspected Assailant, a Negro with Bad Record. (Special to The Evening World.) WILMINGTON, Del., June 16.—The community is greatly excited over the assault committed upon seventeen-year- old Helen Bishop yesterday afternoon. The girl is stil] unconscious at the home of her father, Rey, Dr. E. A. Bishop, Superintendent of th School, and as yet no attempt has been made to have her identify the hegro, George White, who was arrested for the crime. ‘ ris Industrial ‘The evidence against White 1s cireum- stantial, and his reputation had @ great deal to do with his arrest. He was re- leased from the county workhouse a short time ago after serving five years for a similar crime, ‘There is little doubt that the assailant of the girl intended to murder her. Three slashes in her throat, evidently inflicted with a penknife, while they did not go deep, are suffictent.y serious to cause fear that she will not recover from the combination of wounds and shock.
