Peace Conference at Cincinnati Is Likely'to Result in Fierce Argument. ‘OINCINNATT, ©., Jan, 9—All the members of the joint peace commis- alon of the Natjons! and American Baso- ball leagues were here to-day for the conference that began this afternoon. The National members are stopping at the Gt. Nicholas and American members at the Grand Hotel. They met during the forenoon with the owners and man- agers in their respective leagues, many of whom were present, as well as Presi- dent Harry Pulliem and Ban Johnson. From what could be learned of these preliminary meetings there will be a fight, first on the scope of he conter- ence, aml jf an agreement és reached as to how far the conferrees ehall go then there will be contention as to what question will be taken up firet. The American members want the dils- pute over players passed on first. Chairman Herrmann, after spending the night with Robisop, Dreyfuss and others, met James A. Hart and other National leaders this morning, and afterward called on Charles Comiskey, Henry Kiliilea, Charles Somers ahd others at the headquarters of the Amer- lean conferrecs. Wihille the greetings were cordial between individuels the indications to-day did not seem favor- able for any proposed peace agreement. A short conference was held between President Herrmann, Chairman of the Natlonal League Peace Committee, and President Johnson, of the erican League, shortly after the arrival of the American League delegates, at ‘which it was decided to open the session at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Mr. Johnson informed Mr. Herrmann that he would act as the fourth member of the Ameri- can League Committee, whereupon Mr. Herrmann named President Pullism as the fourth member of the National League Committee, American na} Tournament—Seven-Twenty- Four, Sylvian Corinthian, at the White Ble- phant alleys, New York League Tournament—Orchard stick- ers and Byrant, at Amann & Treise's alleys.
