Iorouoh Work by Detectives, Who Arrested Four Men, with Evidence Enough to Make Conviction Almost a Certainty ‘The last known gang of check forgers in this country has deen rounded up by the Pinkerton Detective Agency, with the help of Capt. Titus's men. A fourth Man was arrested to-day In addition to the three who were picked up last night. The Pinkertons think they have amplo evidence to send them all to the peni- tentlary and thus successfully wind up @ hunt that has lasted for three years. The men under arrest are John Brush, sixty-two, of No. 68 Ninth ave- nue: George Ross, alias Milburn, and ninth street, and Al Hurst, ullas Dan Bawarts, of No. 259 West Twenty- ninth street. The checks belonged to almost all the banks in the city. Many of these instl- tutions have been victimized by the Bang in the two years and a half they have been working, A full lst of the forgeries has not been made public by the detectives, but it Js known that among the banks which have suffered were the Now Amsteriam, the Liberty National, tho Fourth National, the Mechanics’ National, the Lincoln Na- tional and the Pacific.
