1 A 1. 7 iv, LIFE-SAVING A OF THIS HABIT MODEST HERO. Ernest Hultgreen, Who Has Rescued Nine Persons from Drowning, Tells Experience. Ernest L. Hultgreen is a life-saver of the sort who save life not for the glory of it but just because they can't help it. Besides, to save a life is a duty, says Hultgreen, and a duty which he means ‘ perform, no mat- ter how little the thanks or praise. Since he has been engaged as an electrician on the new Harlem River Bridge he has saved nine lives. He has never received # f#2onny orsa r-dal for his heroic work, and few of the persons he has snatched from | death in the river have ever acknowl- edged his ~ervice. Hultgreen has leaped from the upper trusses of the Harlem River Bridge to rescue men and women. Yesterday he added to his record by jumping from one of the upper gird- ers of the bridge and saving the life}! of elght-year-old John Cody, of No. 564 Hast One Hundred and Thirty- fifth street.
