DELAY IN CASE Of STANLEY. Uncertainty as to Who , Will Examine Father Phillips's Viscera. Assistant District-Attorney Garvan sald to-day that there has been no quick analysis of the viscera of Father Phillips, the Hazelton priest, on sus- Plcion of connection with whose death “Dr. Kirk Stanley ts now in the Tombs. Prof. Witthaus has possession Of the sealed Jars containing the stom- ach and Intestines, but he has not examined them because he has not re- cetved the District-Attorney’s order to do 40. The order for the examination has been signed by a Supreme Court Jus- tice and by the District-Attorney. The hitch now Is as to who will perform the analysis. Prof. Witthaus will not get the job tf he intends to put in one of his usual high-priced bills. Mr. Gurvan says there {s no intention of dropping the prosecution of Stanley, as the analysis has not been made, and, the event of poison being found, the prosecution will be made vigorously. The claim of Stanley's friends 1s that the only charge that can be made against him ts tyut for falling to report the priest's death. This ts ascribed to his fear that the public would belleve the et-alr apparatus which tt {= as- werted caused death Is a failure and his work of years would go for nothing. Whether a charge of violating tne sant- tary law woul be nade againat Stanley in the event of his release is not de- elded, MAS, HALL TO CET $50,000 Gilman Heirs Said to Have Reached an Agreement.
