She was to have sailed this morning, and I suppose they are now on their way out. “Is it decided that Valkyrie III, will femain in her berth at Erie Basin all Winter?” “That is the present intention, but our plans may be changed. If Defender should go to the Mediterranean this ‘Winter, as has been suggested, to com- pete in any of the regattas held there, Valkyrie III would probably be cent over. Otherwise she will remain here.” The English p was lying off the Jong pler at Robbins's dock this morning and all her men seemed to be taking ¢ rest. Her stores had all been truns- ferred to the City of Bridgeport, tut nothing had been done in the way of dismantling her. Both her captains, Cranfield and Syca- more, were ashore, and were carrying ‘on an animated discussion over the tele- phone with Mr. Kersey in New York, and when they had finished their talk, they said that they had no information except that the yacht would go into Winter quarters as soon as possible, “AML her racing rig,” said Capt, Cran- Meld, “is stored at the White Star dock, ‘and the only thing that remains to be done to put her in shape is to unbend the sails of her ketch rig and store them ane pall not unship her masts or any of her spars, und Mr. Dickey has a berth for her right here.” it looks as if this meant more races with Defender,” put in Capt.
