NEW BRUNSWICK, April %.—George Dunham, a painter, in the office of meway & Co., wall paper manufa: turers, had a flerce fight for his life this morning with a large English mastif?, which belonged to James Rhoades, of Lewis street. Dunham was chasing the dog, when it sprang upon and bore him to the ground, The mastiff chewed at Dunham's arm and wrist, and badly lacerated them in Several places. Dunham Is large and athletic, and fought desperateiy for several minutes, but growing percepti- bly weaker A passerby secured a club and drove the brute away. Dunham was carried fainting, into his house. He had a bad wound in the bacx of his head, caused by striking the pavement when the dog threw him down. Dr. H. R. Steele Mackaye Wife Opponen Hin Divorce Su The sult of Arthur Loring Mackay #on of the late Steele Muckaye, for a solute divorce from Flora Louise Cutler Mackaye, was on trial before Justice Stover in the Supreme Court to-day. Mackaye is a newspaper reporter, and the co-respondent in the case, Paul Latske, has also been connected with the press for a number of years.
