FEATHERSON’S SUCCESSOR. Bdward P, North Assumes His Daties as Water Purveyor. Edward P. North to-day assumed mentary Proceedings A Worthless Check Used to Pay a Private Debt. Lawyer August Reymert, of 128 Broad- Way, who represents Sophus Neilsen, of 20 State street, in a suit against Com- missioner of Jurors, Plimiey, on a bal- ance of $66 of a note given by Plimley to Nellsen, co-day took out an order in guppiementary — proceedings —_ against | Piimtey. The order was granted by Justice Newburger, and is rturnable April 5. This is the case in which Plimley fave a worthless check of $20.33 to settle the costs and a promissory note for the original claim, The check was one of those issued by Eugene Davis, manager of La Foilette Coal and Iron Company, of which Plimley is Treasurer, on the Franklin National Bank, after’ the a count was closed, Others of the worth- less checks were passed by Mayer, a clerk in the office of the Commissioners of Jurors, and the publication of this fact by “The World” led to the discovery that the $20.33 check was bad also. When Lawyer Reymert heard this, he secured the chest from the holder and how has it in his possession. He has waited for Plimley to come around and make good the amount, but as that was not done this morning he said he would Proceed to recover the amount of the claim as well as that of the check, ag- gregating a few cents over $86. Mr. Reymert says that some time ago he secured a judgment for the. $56, but it was returned unsatisiied.
