DES MOINBS, March 6.—Cashter h, of the Bank of Adel, was per- haps fatally shot by two bank robbers at Adel this morning. C. D. Batley was also badly shot. The robbers drove into town about 9 o'clock in a top bugey, proceeded at once to the Bank of Adel, entered and Stated they wished to deposit a sum of money. Cashler 8. M. Leech turned to arrange to receive the money, and on looking around was confronted by drawn re- volvers in the hands of each man. The robbers ordered him to turn ever the funds of the bank, which he refused to do and they shot him. C.D. Bailey, a wealthy merchant, hap- ened to be tn the bank and was also shot. The robbers then aped with all the funtis of the bank they could lay hands on. They drove out of town, but before noon both robbers were captured. One hid in a barn and was smoked out and shot.
