WASHINGTON, Jan. 10.—Notwith- standing the reverse suffered by the Carlisle Currency bill in the House of Representatives yesterday, there is to be no abandonment of the effort to secure currency legislation. Tt is stated by a gentleman convers- ‘ant with the facts that a new measure, having Executive approval, will be in- troduced in the House in about two weeks. This length of time will be allowed to elapse in order that the confusion and excitement attending the struggle over the first bill may be allayed and & new start made under more favorable conditions, It is probable that Mr. Bpringer will not direct the course of the new measure, as the desire will be to ur as far possible from any loss of Deeition attaching to the old measure, sion part of tala tuation b: igurate, policle framed are not tien known.
