Yesterday, citi- zens of Seattle and the State of Washington ex- pressed their gratitude for the many blessings they received during the past year. It certainly , was fitting that they do so. Th no section of the coun- try has there been greater advancement and more prosperity than in the State of Washington. Every section of uae state has been prosperous. Farmesss and fruit-growers have had abundant crops, with prices for their products well above the average. Labor has been steadily employed at adequate wages. More capital has been invested in this state than during any previous year. Building in Seattle and in the en- tire state has been unprecedented, In addition to all this, we in Western Washington have had one of the most beautiful summer and fall seasons in our history. Our olimate rivals and, in my opinion, excels that of any other seotion of the United States. Burdened by no boom conditions but with a wonderful steady growth and in- creased prosperity, we all have much to be thankful for. ‘ MR.
