He dumped me out eight blocks from the office, so I got my walk, but no pleasure out of it. “Now this is what I want to put up to you: “How are we going to get these gen- erous auto owners to realize that not every man who talks the street in the morning is hoping to be picked up and save a car fare; that many of us pre- fer to read our newspapers in the street cars to the strain of auto riding downtown ? “Tf you can get that across, many of us will hail you as a public benefactor.” We judge from this letter that not every man who is walking is fishing for a ride downtown.
