I, July 31—The Misses Muriel and Consuelo Van- derbilt, daughters of William H. { Vanderbilt, II, were rescued by the coast guard after having been adrift in a canoe at sea in a dense fog and high waves, for more than four hours. With them were Elmer Smith, a Yale student, and Tommy Taylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Suf- fern Taylor of New York.
