Because of Mrs. Edidy’s love for humanity, her life was one of loving obedience to God, devoted tp the establishment of Christian Science on earth, that ail might share the blessing it be- stows in health and happiness. Her whole concern was to reveal to her feliow-men Christ's plan of salvation. ‘This concept that God Is Love, is made-practidal in a more loving brotherhood; it destroys all strife, hatred, and revenge, and takes away the desire to injure in any way one’ brother. A Tight sense of love is not talking but doing. As Mrs. Eddy so beautifully expressed it, it is “reflected in love” Science and Health, p. 17). We haye barely touched the hem of Christ's garment to-day in our understanding that God is Love, but the glimpses already gained have en- abled Christian Scientists to heal the sick and to be helpful to humanity. This impelling force of Love will con- tinue until all shall know Him from the least unto the greatest, and God's love be manifested among men. Christian Science teaches that to know God aright it must be under- stood that God {s Principle, Why ghould {t be thought strange that Christian Scientists believe God to be divine Principle? Christian Scl- ence is thdgScience of Christianity, and all scientific demonstrations, whether physical or mental, are the result of an understanding of law and the employment of them. Mathe- matics, music, architecture, every- thing that is worked out according to Tule or method {s in accordance with principle; then it should not be con- sidered inconsistent that man, the spiritual image and likeness of God, is governed by the law of divine Prin- ciple instead of being left to the chance and change of hu ‘The meaning of the word * fs: “Basis or foundation governs all that proceeds from it.” We find therefore that it is the most appropriate term for God. Every thinking person cogniz things that exist; because of his be lief in the existence of things, he be-} lieves that there is a first cause or creator. Christian Science proclaims that Gou is cau: of all created things. It declares God to be Om- nipresence and Omnipotence, the all inclusive infinite Orit, or, as Mrs Eddy so “Adorable One,” which includes all life, law, power, intelligence, and tion. This all-inclusive Omnipotence or the One Presence is best under- stood as Mind, The one omnipotent Mind or one conscious Being is ex pressed after ‘ts.own kind, then all {hat expresses it must be mental Decause the activity of mind ts thought. Christian Solence reveals to this age the fact that nothing has happened to weaken. or to destroy man's God-given do- minion, It is impossible that man, made in the image and likeness of God, could fall Into evil and sin; yet the belief that he did so fall has caused all thé sorrow and suffering on earth. The beginner further asks, “If God is infinite good, where did evil come from, what ts its cause and origin?” When we learn to think in accord with divine Mind. we find that evil in individual consciousness dis- appears and that, therefore, the only jenuse for evil or sin is a false be- Nef, a wrong thought, and not spiritual fact. It is no miracle to accomplish resulta when one is shown the way through a sclentific rule and its application, but the great miracle was this, that in @ world and age of abject mater- jaliam, & woman appeared, who through steadfast faith in God and a desire to know His will in order to help mankind, was able to peer back through the centuries of error, 4g- norance, and darkness and perceive again the healing Christ, This was ithe miracle, and yet it was tke in- jevitable action of Truth.
