In spite of the warnings about avoiding last-minute rushes many have put it off until now and many are the tired feet that go hurrying and scurrying over the pavements, first to this shop and then to that one, searching, planning, figuring out ways to make dollars stretch over big lists of things to buy and kiddies to make happy Christmas morning.
