Campfire Girls who are able to en tertain out-of-town girls are urged to register their names and the num- ber of girls they can entertain, at headquarters at once. Campfire Girls to Attend Church in a Body To close the Campfire Conference, kirls are asked to attend church on Sunday morning, May 27, in a body. For convenience the downtown churches have been selected: First Methodist church, First Presbyter- jan, St. James Cathedral, and Pil- gtim Congregational, Leaders will be in attendance, Campfire Girls have been “giving service” this week by ushering at the State Parent-Teacher convention held in Meany hall. Eight girls have been on duty h morning and afternoon and have assisted in every way possible. Mrs. E. R. Sprague, who fs the leader of a group of Biue Birds, is having a May Festival for her group at her home, on May 25. Parents and friends of the girls are invited. Mrs, Alma Purlenky, chairman of the San Francisco Guardians asso- ciation, will be a guest of the Seattle Campfire Girls at Camp Sealth dur- ing the second period of camp, July 214, Mrs. Marie Huber and her Camp- fire Girls of Mercer Island will hold a Council Fire June 1. Ten new members will be admitted to member- ship in the group and a new group under the leadership of Mrs. A. Mer- cer, These girls were formerly Blue Birds under the guardianship of Miss Katherine Shoemaker, F National headquarters of Camp- fite Girls will conduct four Shawne- quas In the United States this year, and all of these courses will be west of the Mississippi, at Dallas, ‘Texas; Des Moines, Iowa; Denver, Colorado, and Spokane. Miss Edith M. Kempthorne, national field secre: tary, will have charge of the courses and at the Spokane Shawnequa will be assisted by the local executive, Miss Anette Francisco. This last course will be of special interest to Seattle guardians and older girls, as it can be easily reached and forms a splendid opportunity to spend a profitable vacation and at the same time to meet new Campfire people, ‘The course will be conducted at the Spokane Campfire Girls camp, sit uated on the Coeur d'Alenes, Idah», which is the headquarters not only for the Spokane Campfire Girls, but for all Campfire Girls of the In. land Empire, Miss Kempthorne and Miss Francisco will be assisted by specialists On various crafts, among them being Prof, C.
