SHAPLEIGH Of Columbia University 1 quart soft, stale bread crumbs 1% cup butter 1 quart sliced apples 1 cup seediess raisins % cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon % teaspoon salt % cup cold water Melt butter, a44 crumbs and mix thoroly, In a baking dish, well buttered, put layer of crumbs, then a layer of apples and sprinkle with #ugar mixed with cinnamon and salt, Repeat until apples, sugar and crumbs are all used.
