BY CYNTHIA GREY Have you some musical records you have grown tired of | that perhaps repose on the bottom of your stacks og popular so, the following letter will doubtless interest you. Dear Cynthia Grey: We, the inmates of Tank No. 2 of the county jail, wish to make known to you the following: Our sheriff, Mr, Matt Starwich, has been kind enough to grant us the privilege of allowing one of the inmates to send home for his phonograph, which we have installed here in our tank. Of course we are great lovers of music, and even though we are not now fortunate enough to experience the joy of seeing a real show, or having a good dance, we can all sit around the phonograph and listen to the music, which seems to sort of connect us with the outside world. We have played what recérds we have over and over again, so we have decided to ask you if you could find a way to get us a few more up-to-date ones, as the ones were have are very, very old. We assure you that anything you may do, or try to do, will be highly appreciated by all of the boys. We remain very truly, INMATES OF TANK NO. 2, Cynthia Grey: records? Not every type of crude pos- sesses the elements of “‘oiliness” and stability which are essential for the manufacture of this high-grade motor lubricant. Hence, whenever a well is brought into production, the crude petroleum from this new source is subjected to careful tests, both in the field and at the refinery, From this crude a small quantity of finished lubricant is made in our research laboratory—a complete equip- ment of miniature stills, washers, filters and other appa- ratus being utilized for this purpose. This miniature laboratory process reproduces in every detail the proce ess by which Zerolene is regularly manufactured, If the resulting lubricant is shown by the chemists’ analyses and the engineers’ tests to be in the slightest degree below the exacting standards set for Zerolene, the production of the well is diverted to other uses, and is not used for the manufacture of Zerolene.
