Receipts Increase Heavily, Forcing Prices Down Ees receipts increased heavily Wednesday, forcing the price on the fresh ranch hennerie¢s down 3 cents. The wholesale price for the fresh ranch eggs was 55 cents a dozen, and the pullets went at 44 and 45 cents. The price to the shipper on the first variety wag 50 to 61 cents a dozen and on the latter from 38 ito 40 cents. The local butter market was steady, tho some jobbers claim the cream receipts are so light as to warrant a firm market. California cauliflower is due on the street. It is expected to wholesale around $2.50 a half crate. Local cabbage receipts have been fairly heavy this week and are moving well at from 1% to 2 cents a pound. ‘The apple market is slowly im- proving, according to commission men, They claim the fruit is not arriving here as fast now because of |heavier shipments to the East. This gives the jobbers a chance to clean up the earlier arrivals, Thete were no changes of prices in the fruit see- tion Wednesday. A good demand for Florida grapefruit was shown.
