Buchanan, poultry specialist from the ‘state college, gave instructions to 600 poultrymen on how to detect euila. CARDS HANDED OUT TO 112 POULTRYMEN At these meetings carés were handed out to 113 poultrymen with the request that a record be kept of the culling and reported to County Agent Nystrom later in the season. These cards have now been re- ceived from about half of the poul trymen, Using the figures from the reports sent im and calculating that the same ratio holds good in all of the 112 flocks, it is found that there were a total of 34,494 hens in the 112 flocks, Out of these 6,351, or 17.02 per cent, were found to be culls. ‘These culia were kept separate for & week and their egg yield was found to be 3,479 eggs. This is equivalent to a 7.8 per cent lay.
