FIRE PLOT CONFESSION WEIRD ONE Mrs. D. C. Corbin, Widow of Spokane Capitalist, Tells Strange Story SPOKANE, May 6.—A weird tale| of love, stock gambling, financial | ruin and the attempt to recoup her fortunes by agreeing to a plot to burn her mansion here, was made | public today by Mra. D. C, Corbin widow of the former railroad mag nate and capitalist. The Corbin residence, $42,000 damage amounting to $10,000. Yew ertay Mrs. Corbin made a volun tary confession, involving herself and her chauffeur, L. BE. Lilge, with whom she avers she ts in love Mrs. Corbin was Corbin's house insured for wife died Corbin, sent his house kéeper to Europe, educated her in the arts and, of her return, mar ried her. In his will he left her the bulk of the property, with the proviso that she loge it if she married again. Faced with an expense of $10,000 & year and an income of but $4,000, Mrs. Corbin listened to Lilge’s tales ‘of quick wealth in oil stocks, she pays. The plot to burn the home and collect the insurance was hatched. Liige was to get $1,000 if Mrs. Cor. Din got $20,000 insurance, and $2,000 if she collected $40,000, she said in her confession. Lilge maintains that the woman is “crazy” and not telling the truth. Both are held on first degree ar eon waren. CYCLONE HITS LOS ANGELES!
