Backer has ed but the last half of the season and improved as season progressed. He replaced Jimmy Marquis, who graduated, in the middle of the year. McCarthy was good guard thruout the season, but lacked the speed of the four men on the two Star squads. Bert Maxwell and Thorburn of Franklin played good ball at times, but weren’t All-City NP .
