Physicians carefully in- struct patients to eat moderately of satisfying, van f digested ‘foods, being careful to avoid heavy meals and heavy, hard-to- digest foods. Pure, fresh milk is one of the few foods an influenza patient is allowed during sickness and doc- tors emphasize that it should form a large part of the diet when the patient is recovering. Influenza leaves one in a very weakened condition, to recover from which one must pay close attention to careful living and diet. A year ago many cases of sick- ness following influenza were born of the weakened condition of the patient and could have been avoided had more care been exercised in diet. To prevent a recurrence of last year’s experience we wish to em- phasize that pure, fresh milk, with which Seattle is abundantly supplied, is a perfect food and that influenza convalescents can use plenty of it—that they may satisfy their hunger with pure milk with complete safety. | Now in the Fourth Naval | District, Navy Yard, 7 hiladelphia, Pa.
