For a Nam Photograph of $1,695 Automobile for Which e THIS 1920 MODEL 6-CYLINDER SEATTLE-MADE AUTOMOBILE TO BE GIVEN FREE To Person Suggesting Best Name Why We Ask the Public to Suggest a New Name The Davis Car Company, Inc., has been engaged since its organization in 1914 in perfecting a new design for an automobile to be manufactured in Seattle. It is now ready to begin the marketing of its product and calls upon the people of this community to supply the best possible name for the first car to be produced in Seattle. The first car made in the company’s factory is pictured above. This car will be presented, fully equipped, to the person suggesting the best name. The original intention of the company was to name its car the “Davis Six,” after the inventor of the Davis drive, which is the most distinguishing feature of _ this automobile, but there is another car on the market with the Davis name, and | rather than engage in litigation the right to use the name “Davis” was given up. In selecting a name consider that it must be one attractive and practical for use in all parts of the United States and all countries on the Pacific ocean, for ex- port trade will be vigorously sought for by this company.
