After the death of their father, their mother married Ben Casagrane da. All are of Italian parentage. Mrs. Casagranda died shortly after the birth of Ben, and her three song and their sister were placed by their step-father in a Tacoma orphanage in 1893. In Tacoma they attended the Lowel school for years. Harry was adopted by R. Williams, of Greenwood, B. C., in 1897, and lived in Canada until 1901 Carl was adopted by a Peterson family in Anacortes the same years He moved to Port Townsend a few years ago.
